Thousand Islands Engagement: Ashleigh & William
Kring Point – Alexandria Bay, NY

There is something about the Thousand Islands. Peaceful. Romantic.   A captain from Schermerhorn Harbor once mentioned that there are very specific requirements for an island to truly have the honor of being counted among the many islands. A true island must rise above the water at all times of the year. It must also have at least one solid tree of a certain diameter, not just shrubbery.   Very often we (or at least I) think of love a bit like a tree. It starts as a seed planted perhaps on purpose, or maybe by ‘accident’. Sunny days and soft rain come along giving it what it needs to grow. Storms may shake the sapling, but in the end, the strength gained is a blessing. Later on, we see the tree and marvel at its strength and beauty.   William’s family have a little cottage on one of the islands near Alexandria Bay and I couldn’t help but thinking that if they judge an island by the strength of its trees, their cottage will remain on an true island for a very long time. I loved seeing Ashleigh and William’s love poured out in who they are.   Congratulations to you both!
